As we start 2026, we wanted to let you know that there are many ways you can volunteer with us.
Why volunteer? Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, form friendships, and make a positive difference to your community. As we continue our growth as a charity, we want to make volunteering with us enjoyable, safe and provide opportunities for training, personal development… whilst ensuring you’re not out-of-pocket in the process!
Right now, we’re recruiting new volunteers to help us plan and deliver projects and we want our new volunteers to be truly reflective of the local community and its diversity.
We’d love to welcome you to our core team of volunteers, aka our Rimrose Action Group. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month (details below), discuss and plan new projects, have a brew and a biscuit and we’re always on the lookout for new faces and fresh ideas!
This opportunity is perfect for anyone who may be less ‘hands on’ and/or unable to commit to some of our more physical activities, and is positive and proactive. You won’t be expected to do everything, or take on too much! We share the workload and you can commit as much or as little time as you’re able to.
So if this is you, or you can think of someone who might be interested, why not join us?
When? 2nd Wednesday of the month, 7-8pm, beginning 14th January.
Where? St Mary’s Church Annexe, 32 Brooklands Ave, Waterloo, L22 3XZ (please note: this is NOT the church itself, which is now apartments. See photo below)

Alternatively, for those of you on Facebook, you can RSVP to get a reminder for these recurring meeting invites by clicking HERE.

Other opportunities to volunteer with us throughout the year include litter picks, basic maintenance activities, and helping us to record the wildlife to be found on Rimrose.
Take a look at the January-to-March programme of activities below for our Nature of HEART project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and the PH Holt Foundation.
Volunteering opportunities include “60 Minute Heroes” and “Keep Rimrose Tidy”. Whilst you are free to just turn up on the day, signing up via Eventbrite will mean you get a reminder in advance and confirmation of the location, without having to check social media. Just click HERE.

Thanks for reading this – we hope to see you someday!
Team Rimrose.
