Nature for HEART – Awards for All funding!

As you may have seen on our social media channels, we’re really happy to report that we’ve received a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund for our project called Nature for HEART (Health, Engagement, Activity, Resilience, Togetherness).

This Awards for All funding is vital as it enables us to create a part-time project manager role, coordinate volunteer activities and deliver a programme of events on Rimrose from now until the end of 2026.

A major aim of our bid was to grow our volunteer base and getting local people (that’s YOU!) to help shape our activities.

So… we would LOVE it if you wanted to get involved, beginning with litter picks!

As winter approaches, and much of the vegetation on Rimrose dies back, now is a great time to spot any litter that’s been discarded throughout the year.

We’ll soon be organising regular litter picks to tackle as many of the worst spots as possible. By volunteering, you’ll get to meet new people AND be doing your bit to protect the environment.

What’s not to love?!

To help us plan this, we’ll be taking it zone-by-zone, using the coloured map below as a guide… and we’d like to hear from you. If you’re aware of specific grot-spots you’d like to see addressed, please email enquiries@rimrosevalleyfriends.org

For example…
“Yellow zone – footpath from Fulwood Way entrance to central path on Rimrose”
OR
If you’re able to, use “what3words” to pinpoint the exact spot, like the example below. Just place a pin on the map and it will generate a unique 3-word location!

And, of course, if you’re willing to volunteer on the litter picks themselves, just let us know!

Thanks for your help getting us started – keep your eyes peeled for more information as plans take shape.
