We have been working hard to maintain clear and open communications between us all, Highways England and their subcontractors during their road feasibility surveys on Rimrose Valley.

We’re pleased to report that Highways England has decided to launch a newsletter to further clarify the situation and to keep the public informed directly.  They’ve told us that several newsletters will be released over the coming months as the situation progresses, followed by public ‘consultation events’ that will take place early next year during which time we’ll all get to make our views known.

Rimrose Valley Friends remains hopeful that a road through our cherished Rimrose Valley will be found to be infeasible, and this hope is backed up the the statement in the newsletter that states “We have also started a ground survey because ground conditions have a major influence on construction costs”.  We believe the underground conditions will be found to be terrible, making the construction of a road too expensive.

That hope aside, if plans for a road through Rimrose Valley are ever announced we will all organise as one voice to stand up for Rimrose Valley, working effectively and within the law to defend our beautiful piece of countryside.

In the meantime please continue to get your friends, family and neighbours to sign up as a Friend so that we can call on a great number of people to join us in making our voices heard if needed in future.

Thank you for your continued support
