FREE Tai Chi Sessions on Rimrose Valley

This is to let you know that we have some FREE Tai Chi sessions happening on Rimrose Valley this coming weekend, and again at the beginning of May. These are courtesy of funding from Tesco’s “Stronger Starts” and part of our ongoing “Explore & Learn” project.

What is Tai Chi? Tai chi is an art embracing the mind, body and spirit. Originating in ancient China, it is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body.

How can it help me? Tai Chi has amazing benefits to both physical and mental health.

Physically, it can improve balance (reducing the risk of falls), coordination, flexibility and strength. It can also result in better health for your heart through lowered blood pressure. Other physical benefits include a improved bone mineral density, better sleep quality, relief from chronic pain (particularly in people with arthritis) and improved COPD symptoms through better respiratory functioning and exercise capacity.

The mental and emotional benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood and reduced symptoms of depression. It can also improve cognitive function, including memory, attention, and concentration, as well as increased self-confidence.
