The illegal use of scrambler bikes in Rimrose Valley and the surrounding roads causes a great deal of upset and distress to people as well as the obvious safety risks.  Rimrose Valley Friends is calling on the communities to repeat the outstanding efforts of 2015 and phone the Police with each and every sighting and any information you have.

At a recent meeting with the Police, RVF organisers were told about the “Threat, Harm, Risk” model the force is using to evaluate where to put their very tight resources.  It was explained that when people phone through to the Police all sightings and knowledge of these illegally used bikes, it helps the matter to move up the scale and get more attention and resources allocated to it.

The Police and the community both want to stop these bikes, and your phone calls are the key to the Police being able to tackle the problem effectively.

When enough people phone up with sightings or information about these bikes or the riders, we will get the Police helicopter, quadbikes, motorbikes and foot patrols, all proven to be effective tools at beating the problem.

Please don’t be put off if you don’t see a rapid Police response to your call. It simply isn’t possible for the Police to always respond rapidly to every call made, but rest assured – and the bikes seized proves this – your calls do make the essential difference in mobilising the Police to action.

Either contact the police directly or if you prefer to remain anonymous, email enquiries@rimrosevalleyfriends.org and we will forward any information you have without it being traced back to you.

To contact Merseyside Police:

  • Phone 101 (10p from any phone), or
  • Phone 0151 709 6010
  • Call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
  • Or if it is an emergency, phone 999
