We are incredibly sad to share the devastating news that a much-loved member of our team, Hazel Davies, died on Saturday, 3rd December peacefully in her sleep at Woodlands Hospice, having bravely battled leukaemia for two years.
Hazel was a founding member of our campaign’s Road Action Group and had also been a Trustee of our Rimrose Valley Friends charity.
She was a strong-willed, feisty, intelligent woman, a huge asset to our campaign and she always spoke her mind… as many will recall from her updates and comments on our Facebook group.
She was incredibly kind and generous. We loved her quirky wit (she adored a good pun!) and her obsession with giraffes, Yorkshire Tea, and ukuleles. She was artistic, very creative, loved crocheting and painting, pottering in her garden, and her cats Dolly and Lulu.
Hazel LOVED Rimrose Valley and walking her beloved dogs, Cassie and Delilah, on the park. She had a real appreciation for nature and the simple things in life.
She packed a lot into her 48 years and had many friends, so we know this will be sad news for lots of people.
We offer our heartfelt sympathy to Hazel’s partner, Dave and his family… to her Mum & Dad, Yvonne and Emlyn, her brother Kevin and all her family and friends.
Hazel will be greatly missed, and our campaigning will continue in her memory.
Rest in peace, Hazel x
